The Murray, Hong Kong, a Niccolo Hotel, on Cotton Tree Drive in Central is set to catapult into the limelight as being the first significant new luxury hotel to open in Hong Kong for several years.

Located in a stand-alone building positioned between the Central business district and the green oasis of Hong Kong Park, the 25-storey hotel offers some of Hong Kong’s most spacious rooms and suites with more than 75% at 50 square metres or grander.  Each of The Murray’s 336 oversized accommodation features uniquely recessed windows allowing abundant daylight without direct heat from the morning sun, an architectural feature which has won countless awards for ground-breaking and energy-efficient design.  Surfaces are covered with rare stones, leather and plush textiles creating sophisticated urban chic sanctuaries in the heart of the city.

The high-profile preservation project has breathed new life into one of the city’s most iconic and historic buildings. Built in 1969, the tall white landmark structure, with its distinctive arches frame is set to become the metropolis’ finest, featuring exceptional interior design, excellent facilities and intuitive service.

Highlights of The Murray’s creative meeting and event spaces include The Arches, a 400 square metre venue surrounding the Hotel’s Garden Level perfect for fashion runways and car exhibitions; the Niccolo Room for up to 350 guests will boast a LED ceiling and walls; and six boardrooms with natural daylight and views of St. John’s Cathedral and the nearby gardens.

At the hotel’s lofty and light-filled lobby, Murray Lane, our lobby bar, serves freshly-baked croissants, the city’s best coffee and delicious light lunches. By night, guests may savour craft beers, fine wines and cocktails perfected by revered mixologists.

Located at the hotel’s Garden Level, Garden Lounge offers an elegant atmosphere to enjoy The Murray’s Signature Afternoon Tea and the hotel’s handpicked selection of champagnes and wines. Either indoors or out on the terrace, world-class pâtissiers, baristas and brew masters serve contemporary afternoon teas with a twist. The lounge exudes a contemporary aesthetic of cool greys and gold accents with floor-to-ceiling glass windows over-looking the picturesque St John's Cathedral and the surrounding skyscrapers of the Central district.

The Tai Pan, also at the Garden Level, offers an extensive menu of international and pan-Asian classics and familiar favourites to entice the appetites of discerning diners. The modern dining room is decorated with monochrome black and white marble which contrasts with the burgundy leather furniture and geometric chandeliers in metallic hues, creating a stylish yet relaxed dining experience. With both indoor and outdoor seating complemented with exceptional service and an exquisite wine list, this is the perfect choice for business lunches or social dinners.

Popinjays, our stunning rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2018. A contemporary upscale restaurant showcasing European gastronomy, the menu will celebrate the best of seasonal ingredients.  Guests seeking a more exclusive experience may opt to dine at The Aviary, a beautiful glass pavilion for the ultimate private dinner party. At the bar, guests can enjoy an international tapas menu alongside creative cocktails conceived by expert mixologists against a backdrop of live music featuring a line-up of local and international DJs.

One-Michelin starred Chinese restaurant Guo Fu Lou, renowned for its modern Cantonese dishes, also opening in the second quarter of 2018. Designed by AFSO, Andre Fu’s internationally acclaimed design studio, the restaurant will serve exquisite local fare with renewed style at the restaurant’s dining room or alfresco on its beautifully landscaped terrace.
